1. Download Shadow.Trading Expert Advisor

In order to automate trades on Metatrader 5, you will need to download an Expert Advisor and set it up on the terminal.

An Expert Advisor is a Metatrader 5 program to automate trading processes, that will help us to build your own Trading Robot.

2. Add Expert Advisor to Metatrader 5

• Go to File
• Click on Open data folder
• Go to MQL 5 then Experts folders and import the Expert Advisor File downloaded on the previous step
• Close window, and right click on Expert Advisors and click refresh

3. Allow Algorithmic Trading

• Go to Tools on the top menu
• Click on Options
• Under the tab Expert Advisors
  • Check the box Allow algorithmic trading
  • Check the box Allow WebRequest for listed URL:
  • Add the following URLs
    • https://discord.com/
    • https://webhook.shadow.trading/
  • Validate by clicking on OK

4. Get your Shadow.Trading License Key

In order to use the Shadow.Trading Expert Advisor, you need to get a license key. If you have subscribed to the Trading Connector you should be able to see your License Key on your profile page.

5. Attach Expert Advisor to your chart

Once everything setup, Drag and Drop the ShadowTradingEA_v1.x.x to the chart and provide these two variables under inputs tab:

• ShadowTradingLicenseKey
• DiscordChannelID

You can now go to the next step to fully automate your trading system.
